Rec Man is the fictitious story of James Braxton, a Recreation Instructor at the Andrew Young Recreation Center. He is known as “Rec Man” because of his proficiency at numerous recreation activities including: various martial arts, table tennis, gymnastics, basketball, baseball, various table games etc. He is outstanding at them and is somewhat of a legend to the neighborhood and the city at large. He is motivated to be the best at what he does by what was instilled in him by his father, James Braxton Sr. who taught him the value of using leisure time in a positive way.
The plot of the movie is that REC MAN is trying to save his beloved center from closure and he must fight two entities out to destroy him: Lawrence Billburn a corrupt city official and the Out Cold Boyz or O.C.B. a dangerous street gang that he has enlisted to help him close the center and destroy REC MAN. Ultimately, James gets help from, co-workers, friends and a group of lady undercover cops dubbed: "The Babydolls" to help him fight Billburn and the gang, but will it be enough to save the center and his life?
Rec Man, the movie, is a winner, because it clearly shows an action hero with integrity and conviction. He is a hero who risks his life to stand for a cause he believes in. It shows the importance of team work and how those united for a positive cause can win in the end. It stresses the idea, without being preachy, that positive outlets are needed for all age groups, otherwise our society will suffer the consequences. It will have prolific action sequences and a bevy of sports scenes showing a variety of skill sets. It will have a mix, of a wide age range of characters and nationalities, to appeal to several different age and ethnic demographics. Most importantly, Rec Man has a spiritual foundation and those basic truths revealed in the storyline will help make the movie timeless. It could also help forever change the fallacy that a recreation center is as an expendable item.
The money we raise from Indiegogo will be used to pay the cast, crew and production costs, which can be quite expensive for a production of this size. This film has been in development for 20 years so we are determined to get it done. Our company, Rainbow Visions Video, has shot and executed several short and feature length films with small to micro budgets, so we know that we have the experience and expertise to make REC MAN a reality. However, we have asked for the amount stated because, we've always have operated under this creed: "Any project we undertake must have a budget so that the talent and crew are paid properly." We don't believe in the concept of doing projects and deferring payment for talent and skills. Also, the money raised from your generous contributions, will go towards production costs such as: equipment rental, wardrobe, insurance, permits, makeup, props etc. I feel that when this project is done, it will set a blueprint to do more indie films, employ many people, and most importantly, put out content that's both entertaining and spiritually uplifting!

1. Will you be able to finish the movie if you reach your funding target?
Yes, however our actual costs are quite large, This campaign will raise the minimum
amount we need to pay cast and crew, secure vendors, secure equipment rentals,
travel costs, attorney fees, insurance costs etc. Of course, we also have to
pay for the cost of our perks!
2. If it turns out this is not enough, what is your backup plan?
We will likely do another Indiegogo campaign, which will offer more perks, and show updates of the production. This will include finished scenes that have been completed to that point. Also, we will be offering sponsorship packages for businesses, that will soon be found on www.rainbowvisionsvideo.com under the REC MAN
section. We believe that this plan will help us see the production through to
it's completion.
3. Why should I care if this movie is done or not?
Childhood obesity, children and adult diabetes, the correlation between idle time and criminal behavior are just some of the reasons why REC MAN should be made. If we are sincere about combating these ills of society, we will start producing entertainment that identifies and offers solutions to the problem, not contributes to it. Also, it will be exciting entertainment for those who are into action, martial arts and sports!
4. How do I know my money is in good hands?
Please visit our website and various links offered on our campaign. You will see that RVV has a long history of operating with integrity and delivering quality work to our clients. Also, see the testimonials featured in this campaign. The actors and crew have not been paid to this point, so no amount of money could buy those endorsements!
5. Once you shoot the movie, that's great, but what about post production?
Fortunately, Rainbow Visions Video has their own post production facilities and we can do much of the editing there. We will likely use other post production facilities for
online editing, Foley work, voice over, music scoring etc. Once again, we may
have to raise additional money to cover some of these costs.
6. Why are you using Indiegogo ?
We feel that that people are the investors and they will determine the fate of REC MAN! We feel that crowd funding is now one of the most viable ways to fund not only films but all kinds of positive projects. We chose Indiegogo after much due diligence!
7. Okay lets say you finish REC MAN, now what?
REC MAN will have a premiere, which will be very exciting, as the cast and crew, will have an opportunity to meet, greet and show their gratitude to you, the very people that helped make the film possible. REC MAN will then be submitted to film
festivals. (such as IBFF Aspire Sundance etc.) Typically, this presents an opportunity for the film to be picked up by a major distributor.
8. What if REC MAN is not picked up by a major distributor?
Don't worry, REC MAN will be distributed through video on demand (VOD) through destination platforms such as: Vimeo, Hulu and Amazon.com We feel this strategy is both cost effective and will bring forth solid revenue streams.
