Coffee & Content: How to Start an Acting Career with No Experience & Marvel's ETERNALS Visual Effects Tutorial

Happy Sunday Creative Army!

I've got my coffee in hand and your weekly dose of content coming in hot - grab your coffee of choice and let's dive right in.

First up, the Acting Career Center has an amazing video about how to start an acting career with zero experience. This video features Atlanta-based actor Kurt Yue, who started his acting career with no agent & no experience - he now has over 62 credits including major titles like Marvel's Black Widow, Netflix's Cobra Kai, CW's Dynasty, and many more. In this video, Kurt tells you what steps he took in his acting career to get to where he is today.

Next up, the folks over at Film Riot recently shared an amazing tutorial about how to create visual effects from Marvel's Eternals. Specifically, this video shows you how to make the laser eye effect by using Adobe After Effects. This is a great way to up your production value and add some interesting VFX to your projects.

Kurt Yue asks us why we want to be an actor, and what are our acting goals? I asked myself those same questions to become a writer. It seems whatever career you chose, you have to be able to ask those questions. Interestingly, I posted my three major goals in life on LinkedIn and Facebook last week. Since my life goals reflect my writing goals I’ll share them here. My post simply said: "Every adult should be able to articulate their top three goals in life. I'll start. My goals in life are to: (1) develop and pass on the skills to discern fact from fiction (critical thinking skills), (2) spread love and laughter and eliminate hate, and (3) protect the world for future generations.” I admit that I was less interested in how to make the “laser eyes” effects — but I had I a great time learning how it was done. Curiosity drives us all!

You should post that in Anything Goes here, Tom.  I bet it would get an enormous response.  Love the energy.

Loved Kurt Yue’s outcome oriented energetic video! I was also happy to hear how he pointed out the importance of community/networking! Time to lasereye beam one more cup of magic liquid! Have an effectful Sunday! Thanks!

I second that! Don't understand the word or the expression *"Side Slides Actors Access"*. What does that mean? Is that a portal's name? Thank you and have a lovely day!
