About Kedar
I am theatre practitioner, film maker, playwright, screewriter, short story writer based in Kathmandu Nepal.

Junu Ko Jutta is debut short film of Kedar Shrestha as a writer and director. Katha 72 (2018, Nepali Feature Film), Supermonk (2018, Nepali Short Film) in which he worked as a casting director and actor was screened and awarded in various international film festival.
While working as a casting director and actor for Nepali feature films, he was tempted to tell his own stories through films even though he has been working as a theatre actor/director and playwright since 2006. He is a founder and artistic director of Theatre Mall and Theatre Centre for Children Nepal. Inside the theatre, he loves to work with children, explore their stories, understand psychology and help them to become better adults in the future.
His plays about children/for children are performed by professionals and children also and have participated in many national and international theatre festivals. He has five children's picture storybooks published to his name and he was honoured by appreciation award of Parijaat Manuscript National award 2012. He is also the secretary of Film Critics Society of Nepal.
His debut short film, Junu Ko Jutta was awarded Best Fiction in Nepal Panorama at Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival ( KIMFF) 2019 and Jury's Special Mention at Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF) 2020. Best Children's Fiction in Indie Short Fest-Los Angeles International Film Festival 2020.
And awarded in 66th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen 2020.
