The sun moves all the time, it hides under clouds at times, it's vibrant and then it's very vibrant. I would much rather own a HMI Par but that's the problem. HMI Pars are extremely expensive even to a person who has lots of money but they just are able to buy them. It sucks that rental companies make them so much expensive even when filmmakers go to rent them out. When you purchase the light, it don't even come with the bulb, or the wire plug, or even the ballast. On top of that, you need a generator. What a pain. Why not make it a little more affordable and include everything so we are able to use the light once purchased. I'm sure more people would buy them. For interior scenes, I think lights such as Arri l7-C, Area 48 LED Soft light, Cineo Trucolor HS or LS, or NIla Led Boxer will do a perfect job. But when HMI Pars are used to simulate sun coming in the window or even moonlight, I really don't see why those specific lights have to be used for interior scenes. I hope a genius finds a new technology that allows a Remote Phosphor light be as powerful as the sun yet cool to the touch and still able to operate in house and without a generator.
