Greetings, fellow creatives! I'm new to the community and look forward to networking with many of you. I'm currently working on a TV pilot (tightening up the outline before I start on the script) and editing a screenplay I wrote at the end of 2019. During the day I'm a web and social producer for a big tech company. I'm making the transition from writing novels to screenplays so if anyone has any advice I'd be glad to hear it!

Hi and welcome @Tameka Self publishing a novel is a great way to build interest prior to any script pitch and also if studio want to buy script if a novelette/book is already in ether they cannot obtain total rights to concept. My advice is since you already know how to execute web based stuff, build an Eco System of your story via Transmedia. A lot of it's free EG podcast, u tube, tumbler blog, or a route like Inter active Alexa audio drama etc.
Hi Debbie, thanks for the advice and warm welcome! I’ll look into it.

Hi Maurice, thank you! Nice meeting you as well. Doing well, battling the snow out here! My TV pilot is half-hour dramedy and my film is a drama/thriller.
Thanks, Wayne!

Hi Tameka! Your future work sounds really interesting. I’ve just completed scoring a feature. Thriller/mystery/horror genre so if you’re considering a composer for your film project I’d very much enjoy discussing it further with you. Very happy also to send you a link to my SoundCloud account.

The Writers’ Room is also amazing! It’s a great place to learn and share with like-minded creatives. Each week, we have a virtual zoom meeting, either pitching, learning or sharing and there are other peer meetings throughout the month that include practice pitches and table reads and so much more. If you’re interested, you can email Jason Mirch (j.mirch@stage32.com), the Director of Script Services here on Stage 32, for a free month to try it out! He is also super helpful with any questions you have to help guide you in the next steps of your career! Happy writing!

Tameka, I think it's going to snow here. I like Dramedy entertainment. I write Drama/Thriller feature scripts also.
