Hello! I'd love to hear from you!! Let me introduce myself. My name is Samantha...

Hello Everyone, I have recently gotten back onto Stage 32 to try and connect and network more with this writing community! My name is Samantha, and I am a published children's book author, screenwriter, and PRO MUA. I've never really updated my profile, projects, and/or videos. I also have never posted on here in the chat room either. So, please check out my latest projects and longlines, introduce yourselves, and I'd love to hear from you!

Maurice Vaughan

Welcome back, Samantha Caprio-Negret. Impressive bio on your profile! Congratulations on all your accomplishments!

"She enjoys reading, watching movies, working out, blogging, spending quality time with good friends, and/or traveling, whenever she can find extra time... minus the working out part." Comedy gold! :D

Hi Samantha Caprio-Negret , welcome back to the community! We're glad to have you. Be sure to check out the screenwriting and authoring lounges. Are you working on anything right now?

Samantha Caprio-Negret

Hi guys! Thank you so much!! I appreciate that. Yes, I have two completed features, both completely different. I'm working on a third, but I had to take a hiatus from it because I'm also a published children's book author of fantasy and some humor, and I had three books come out in the last two years, so I've been spending a lot of time on those. But I need to jump back into the screenwriting game! One in particular (crime-gangster-drama, which is also a true story) has won a lot of accolades already through Film Freeway and some competitions, but still no one picking it up. I think it's time to up my "pitching" game. LOL! However, I'm open to suggestions;-))

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Samantha Caprio-Negret. Stage 32 has pitching resources. My favorite two are the Thursday night Pitch Practices and the Pitch Sessions.

The Pitch Practices are a perk of the Writers' Room (www.stage32.com/writers-room). John Mezes' comment on this post talks about the Pitch Practices: www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting/Pitch-Sessions-14

The Pitch Sessions are mainly to help people make their pitches better (the Sessions helped me make my pitches and scripts better, and I got script requests after applying the feedback to my pitches and scripts), but sometimes the people who are hearing the pitch will request scripts, sign writers, etc. (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/success-stories).

Hi Samantha Caprio-Negret - very nice to meet you and welcome back. I love it that you write children's books. One of my writing genres is children's steampunk while the other is YA fantasy. I've also authored books and switched over to screenwriting during Covid. Now I absolutely love screenwriting and feels like home. My family and I now live in Tennessee but I grew up in Florida. Sure do miss the water!

Sam Rivera

Hi Samantha Caprio-Negret it's great to e-meet you and love the name!

Samantha Caprio-Negret

Hi Samantha, wow! My first post I see on here and I see someone who is just like me. I am also a children's book author (two published books) and I'm getting my MFA in Motion Pictures and Television with an emphasis on Screenwriting. But, I am a former Pro Makeup Artist with clients that include Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin. I just can't focus on it anymore since I am already doing so much. Do you live in LA?

Samantha Caprio-Negret

Oh wow, too funny! No, I live in South Florida (Ft. Lauderdale area) to be exact, but so similar to LA, right? I mean South Florida is!! LOL!! Both have lots of celebrities and palm trees, we just have the warmer waters and you guys the cooler climates. I have been to LA a handful of times. I've been there mainly for writing conferences, and every time I go, I have the best time. I love California! I don't focus my makeup so much on others as I do being creative on myself, because I am starting a cosmetic line for young adults in correlation to my children's fantasy books. I have always loved doing makeup, and I wanted to certify myself if I'm going to be selling my own line. It's a work-in-progress. I don't have the time either to take on clients. My writing is my primary career focus. It's a struggle between juggling promoting the books already out there, writing new material, and then focusing on the screenwriting/Hollywood world. So, I'm doing my best! We're creatures of many talents us creatives! LOL!! I'm also a mom, so that is and always will be first priority. Are you ever in SoFlo?

Dustin Richardson

It's nice to meet you, Samantha Caprio-Negret! I just read your bio. It's great that you're a published children's author and a poet! Congrats on all those published books! And that's cool that you're making a cosmetic line for young adults that correlates with your novel. I've never met a PRO MUA before.

Happy weekend

Nick Phillips

Hi Samantha Caprio-Negret! Lots going on! What are you working on these days?

Francisco Castro

Welcome back! What's your favorite movie and TV series?

Samantha Caprio-Negret

Thank you for all the compliments Dustin Richardson ~ I appreciate it!:-))

Samantha Caprio-Negret

Yes, John, I am a makeup artist, so I love to "glam" myself and others up!!! Funny, my MUA Instagram account is @glambysam924. Being in the beauty industry, that's fun for me. Also, makeup is like my play, writing is more my work!!! At least, that's how I feel about it.

Samantha Caprio-Negret

Hi Nick, I'm current trying to finish my trilogy for my MG fantasy, Rainbow Crystal, and I was working on a time travel/time period script, but I haven't had a chance to write as much as I used to, b/c of promoting the books already out there. But, I do plan on finishing it!! I'm obsessed with the 80's, so it will be an era piece from then!;-)) Nice of you to ask.

Pat Alexander

Hey Samantha, what's your children's book about? And where did you go to get your illustrations done?

Samantha Caprio-Negret

Hi Pat Alexander You can view all three of my children's books here on my Amazon author page:

Thanks for your interest!!;-))

Hi Samantha! It’s so nice to meet you, and I’m thrilled you’re here! I just took a look at your Amazon page—your children's books are amazing! Which one was your favorite to write?

Sam Sokolow

I'll add another Sam to the conversation :) It's awesome to meet you here in the community, Samantha Caprio-Negret! You are an artist of many talents. Have you thought about developing your published children's books into films or TV series?

There are so many great resources here to up your pitching and screenwriting games. I also recommend emailing the Stage 32 Success Team at success@stage32.com - they can recommend resources and connect you with reps and execs in the disciplines you're developing in.

Wishing you huge luck on all of your creative endeavors!

Samantha Caprio-Negret

Hi Sydney S thank you! Well, all three are near and dear to my heart and have all been inspired by real life people, events, and pets! However, "Rainbow Crystal" got me through the tragic loss and grief of my best friend at 27-years-old, so I'd have to say that the first book of the series is my favorite!!<3

Maurice Vaughan

My condolences, Samantha Caprio-Negret.

Samantha Caprio-Negret

Thank you Maurice Vaughan -- it was a very long time ago, but I really appreciate that! And still think of her everyday of my life! She channeled me writing that novel. I felt it!

Samantha Caprio-Negret

Hi Sam!! Thank you so much for connecting!!;-))

Yes, I have adapted my children's book, RAINBOW CRYSTAL, into a feature fantasy screenplay. Made for Film. Been shopping it in Hollywood, ISA, Roadmap, here, Greenlightmymovie, Film Freeway, etc...for a few years now...

I have to say, I'm so overwhelmed by the outpour of support and interest here, it's been incredible!! If any of you still want to investigate my work any further, I just updated my website and am so proud if it! Check it out below. It shows all of my WORK, books and screenplays, etc...
