I'm writing a few scripts and doing the storyboards myself and I want to know what else can be considered a proof of concept so that investors can clearly see my vision if the storyboards aren't enough.
A short film. I've written a couple shorts based on characters from a feature script. I'm in the process of finding a producer to help me film them. I may self-produce though. I haven't decided.
put something on tape and collaborate/form a team. A stage 32 member created "Black Salt", from grassroots to HBO success. He partnered with a known Director. Contact him and pick his brain.
If you're trying to persuade investors to fund your project/company, you really need to create a Market Valuation document. If you don't want to hire an attorney or accountant to do that, there are Market Valuation templates online that can help you do that.
(1) Promo Package (2) Moodboard (3) Poster; logline/slugline - "what it is" question in short. And it should tell/give us: (a) A great hook. (b) What sets this little story apart from all other stories in this genre?!!!
“Proof of concept...for investors”. Basically, investors seek a return on their investment and a return of their invested capital so they're going to look at your track record and business acumen. Most investors I know look at indie filmmaking as hapless venture, like investing in the lottery – it's a sucker-bet with a minuscule potential for massive return. The investor is going to ask; “What makes this investment so appealing?”
Hi Aaron, normally a very good logline should work.

Investors? Are you trying to produce the script? Perhaps get a producer onboard.
I plan on hiring a producer once I feel that I am finally done with them.
