Go Indie Now at the Slamdance Film Festival 2021 with filmmaker Angela Washko of Workhorse Queen

Joe Compton sat down with filmmaker Angela Washko about her documentary Workhorse Queen. The film follows Ed Popil, better known to RuPaul's Drag Race fans as Mrs. Kasha Davis, on the journey to navigate the "fame" that came from being on National Television and a very popular show, while wrestling with the notion of establishing a life and career in Kasha's home of Rochester. Angela who has a performance artist background herself gravitated to the uniqueness of the Mrs. Kasha Davis persona and asked to be a fly on the wall through many travels and many ups and downs in Ed and Kasha's journey. We talk about the choices one has to make as a documentarian and how this all came to be and why.
