I see there are a bunch of us in and around the Doylestown PA area. Wondering if anyone wants to organize with me, a gathering on a regular, semi-regular, every now and then or sporadic cuz our lives are chaotic basis? :). Please PM me and lets see what shakes loose. Don't have an agenda as of yet save "hello hi how are ya's" and to find the path less traveled upon which to walk with others to the golden orb of success. Talk soon I hope!
Hey Tracy, usually the meetups that specifically state a date and time have the most attendance. You might want to just choose and place and time (you can always change it later) and update your post. I can help out and send a mailer to those in your area as well, once you pick a place, date, and time.
I live in DTown. Weekends after 2 pm are best for me. Any screenwriters in DTown? Starbucks is in the center of town. :)
Curious and interested. Please keep posted - Thanks!
I'm in Perkasie but back and forth to NJ/NY area. It will depend on when but thanks for including me.
I would be interested in meeting with the group
Having it in Doylestown would be great. Someplace where we can hear each other talk. I think there is a coffee shop in Doylestown with a meeting room downstairs. Best for me would be a Thursday evening. Thanks for reaching out!

Sure I'd be up for it
Depending on the day, date and time we land on, I am interested in joining the group. The only regular meeting I have is the first Tuesday of every month when our filmmaking consortium, FIFO (Fade In/Fade Out), meets in Easton. Which, by the way, you are all welcome to join in on. Please keep me in the loop. The more networking we can do the better we get. Thanks for reaching out, Tracy.
HI Tracy - Yes. That is a great idea.
Sounds like a great Idea. I noticed the Bill Hartin has a group meeting in Easton which would be closer for me.
Sounds good, keep me informed
Jonathan, you're quite welcome to join our FIFO meeting next Tuesday, 11/4, 6:30 p.m. at Two Rivers Brewing Company, 542 Northampton St., Easton to see if we are a fit; as is anyone else interested. I just posted a quasi agenda on my profile. As I said before, though, I still like the idea of a S-32 gathering as well.
Don't think I'd have much to offer than being another person to chat with...but would be up for a D-town mixer...
I'd be interested, in theory, but right now I'm unemployed and I don't drive and I live in Lambertville, NJ. Still, Doylestown isn't out of the question.
I am interested. However, I am not working, but if I get ample notice, I will try to get some money in order to travel.
Sure. Weekends are best for me
I live in Mercer County NJ but would love to connect with new people, so please keep me informed as to day & date. Screenwriter and film/video producer. Bill Hartin's Easton group sound good as well, and may be worth the 90 minute drive for me.
Hello all. Since I'm new to the area, I would be interested.
Sounds like a great local networking opportunity.

Please add me to the invitation. :)
That sounds great. I will put the word out at our FIFO meeting and try to put together a road trip group, so please provide location, time and address when things firm up.
How far is Doylestown from Stroudsburg?
About 65 miles; 1.5 hours driving.
I like the idea. Do you have a location in Doylestown you can use?
Thanks Bill.
Bill, what is fade in/fade out about?
Michael, et al, there is a short description of FIFO and its origins on my profile page, but since you asked...FIFO stands for Fade In/Fade Out. We are a filmmaking consortium in the Lehigh Valley area, attracting diverse creatives from as far away as Maryland and Wisconsin. We meet monthly in Easton, PA and to date have produced three short films, are in pre-production on our next three and are helping a $5.5M feature get shot here in the Lehigh Valley. Our budgets are small but our vision is big. After a little more than a year our numbers are around 100 members. Everyone is welcome so long as they have a collaborative mindset and a willingness to help and grow. Our website is fifolv.org. Hope this helped.
Thanks, Bill. Good to hear stuff being done out here in the boondocks. I may drop in one month.
Michael - If you Google the two you will see how far...you are welcome but .sorry to say it is far.
Tracy- just thinking of a few venues. Depending on night, time & number, maybe the Freight House, or if you want to come down Rt. 611 there is Chickies & Petes, PF Changs or Villa Barolo. Just sums suggestions. Let me know your thoughts.
Michelle, if I treck for two days on my camel to this meetup, will I be able to sell or get my screenplay funded?
Good point, Michael! I think to go to these high end restaurants, I'll need to sell a script first! Lol.
Michael- you never know who your going to meet wherever you go.
Both seem feasible. Keep me in the loop for the Doylestown Meet.
Oh wait, Stage 32 isn't picking up the tab????
As soon as you find the place and set a date keep me in the loop.
My attempt at humor was based on the NYC meetup a month ago. The organizer framed it as a Kareoke Party. I fell ill and wasn't able to attend, but several people were pissed that half the forty people spent the evening singing to a machine. I know if I had driven the hour and ten minutes back and forth (in the rain), I would've been disappointed, too. I'm just saying, it's important to know the what as well as the where and when.
Michael - no worries. I completely understand. In fact I feel the same way. Whether you are close by or far away, the last thing we want to do is waste time. I went to one simular and only 4 people showed! Since your traveling a great distance you may want to check out who is attending & Agenda when from Tracy.
Will do. Thanks, Michelle.
Do we have a date, time and place yet?
VERY interested!! PLEASE keep me posted...as I said before I now live in Lancaster but would drive in for this fer sure. I'm a composer with lots of cinematic music - and more coming - in the portfolio.
Bill, I'm gonna try and stop by tonight.
Great, Michael. Looking forward to meeting you.

Very interested; please share details when available. A little outside of Doylestown, the New Britain Inn has a great menu and is more budget-friendly than the Freight House, et al. Crowded on weekends though.

If anyone is in lower Bucks / NE Philly area and wants to do a writer/director circle type thing message me. I am often in the area of Panera Bread in Feasterville.
That's my neck of the woods! Definitely let me know when you're in the area!
DTown is great- Tuesdays Wednesdays and weekends are best for me.
Even tho a distance for me ... the exposure would be great .. count me in!
I'm in the city myself but i'll come out if your having a social event.
Until we land on a place, date and time for a Doylestown-area meet, y'all are welcome to attend our FIFO (Fade In/Fade Out) filmmaking consortium meeting coming up Tuesday, 12/2 at Two Rivers Brewing Company in Easton, PA, starting around 6:30 p.m.
So any ideas on moving forward on this? As I said in previous comment if anyone is in general area of Lower Bucks I would be happy to do a casual meet up at Panera Bread in Feasterville.
My understanding from the NYC Meetup is that the one who started the discussion is probably busy organizing this thing. With that one, after more than two months of people asking, the person finally posted a date and time. In other words, my guess is we're being heard.
What's the status of a Doylestown, PA meet and greet? I also attend the FIFO meetings up in Easton. Real nice group of creatives.

Status is, I had surgery in December and everything kinda got lost in the catchup lol. Anyone wants to help pull this together, please send me a private message so we can pull it together :) thanks!
Hope your surgery went well, Tracy. If one of the original goals of this pending meet-up was to stay close to Doylestown and perhaps attract folks from the Philly area, then this option probably won't work, but if everyone is a bit flexible, Braveheart in Hellertown (about 35-40 minutes north of D-town) is a great place and space for a get together. Eric, the manager, is very filmmaking oriented and there is a great space downstairs to meet, away from the noise in the main bar/dining area. And I am happy arrange things if there is enough interest. Just a thought...
As I said earlier, I'd come in from Lancaster for this! I used to live in D'town...there's a decent library there...possibly there's a back room for meetings like this would be that we could use, or, the Starbucks like someone mentioned, or, or...Anyway, I have lots of music to share!!
I just went to a meet and greet here in the city wednesday. They were saying they will do it once a month if any are interested ill put up the info when given...
Just a reminder in case you missed my earlier post - FIFO will meet next Tuesday, 2/3, 6:30 p.m. at Two Rivers Brewing Company, 542 Northampton St., Easton, PA. We will be discussing production needs for our upcoming three short films currently in pre-pro. Hope to see you there.
