Actually - would like to connect - would be interested in your Mishima project - a number of connections to him
I am currently working on the adaptation of Runaway Horses renamed Pureland which is set in the present day. In order to translate this in terms American Audiences could relate to we set our first chapter in the early days of the Iraq invasion of March 2003 to establish our main character whose participation in a friendly fire incident haunts him later in life in place of trying to re-write Spring Snow. This allowed us to move into Chapter two much in the way the original story flowed following Honda's legal career and introduction to a martial arts prodigy who is angered by the current calls for war with Iran behind the backdrop of a volatile presidential election.
Got it - -an interesting adaptation. I have been in Japan several times - worked with John Nathan who translated and wrote the biography of Mishima -- did several docs and projects there, so interested in how this evolves. Best- J
