Is there anything that I can do to more effectively get myself out in the industry? I have worked on a number of different projects, but I feel that I am not getting sufficiently immersed in the industry. Do you have any tips for getting on more productions as a freelance editor? I appreciate any and all words of wisdom you can provide.
More then often its a combination of things, some through social media and others through meeting people. Although there's no guarantee that any of the networking will pay off.

I think this is something that a lot of us freelancers deal with. Especially since we spend most of our time locked away in dark rooms and fixated to our monitors. I agree with Tony and Justin, a nice reel, business card and a good 'ole smile and hand shake goes a long way. Try searching for some local meet ups or indie film groups. It takes time and it can be very discouraging when you "hear the crickets," but with patience, diligence and if you are making the effort to improve your skills, you should be ok. Hope that helps. -Bradley J.
Bradley makes a very good point, there are going to be times when just nothing is happening regardless of what you try or who you talk too.
