Hi all! I have five short screenplays completed and plan on continuing to write shorts, even as I dig deeper into work on my first two features. At least three of them could be produced on a very modest budget. I want to try my hand at pitching and selling them but I have no idea where to start. I'm about to begin doing research on the subject, but thought I'd start by asking all my filmmaking comrades here at Stage32. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Happy storytelling!

Good luck Adam! I would start by clicking the Happy Writers tab. To me, can't go wrong with any of the services on this site to see if your scripts are ready. Not sure about short scripts though. Inktip is a good place for those. SimplyScripts.com has a forum as well that showcases short scripts and they've had good success getting their's made. Hope it's okay that I mentioned other sites! :)

there is no money in shorts. make em yourself, win festivals, network with Deep Pockets Money Person/Power players. They are just specs reels to show peeps you have talent to make $$$ in the Bizness. It's basically "film school" without a degree
Looks like making them myself is the best option from everything I see Dan. Jeff, thanks for those websites! They're great! Hopefully between you guys' advice and my own ingenuity I can get at least one made this year.

Yeah, shorts basically act as a resume to show you know what your doing. No one will purchase them, but they may purchase YOU as a result of them.

I sell approx 50% of the shorts scripts I option, there's not enough money in it to make it a full time career but it's nice to get paid for the work.
Thanks guys. All very good comments. I'll take everything into consideration!
