I use a Snowball mic for... well, everything LOL! But I've not yet made the leap into buying a mixer. Do you?
I just started this conversation in the Filmmaking Lounge about a digital mixer, and apparently it's free, too. I'd love for my home-studio actors to weigh in as well: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/directing/Thoughts-on-Audio-Meeter-as-Dig...

Get yourself a decent USB audio interface (I recommend a Behringer U-Phoria UMC204HD) and an XLR microphone (avoid USB ones - they're OK to start out with but they're limited in terms of functionality). For a mic, I suggest either a Worker Bee or King Bee from Neat Microphones. :)

Mmm, GREAT advice, Stefano Pavone! Would you share that in the Filmmaking Lounge as well?

Microphones are like people, they all have different characters so you need to try out as many as you can to find what makes you sound the best. As they say" What's Good For The Gandor ain't always good for the Goose" At least I think that's the way it goes.
