What's going on everyone?!
My name is Ryan Johnston and I'm a screenwriter/actor from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada. I've been writing since I was putting together love notes for the girls in grade school. Back in '07 I decided to take my writing to the next level and I moved out to Vancouver Canada to attend the Screenwriting Program at the Vancouver Film School. Once I learned everything they had to teach me, I went off on my own and wound up living on the beaches of Mexico. I got in to a little trouble here and there but I made it out alive. Yay!
Now, back in Saskatchewan, I'm the Regional Manager for 11 bars across Canada but I'm trying to get back to where I belong in the Film industry.
I have three completed feature films and currently working on my fourth:
A group of coworkers travel to Europe on a bet to see who can have sex with as many different people from as many different countries as possible. This comedy explores the lighter side of one of the most taboo subjects in North America...Sex. Follow Jack Taylor and his friends as they explore their sex lives and discover the hardship and potential love interests that sex may bring.

I also have 2 completed animated series pilots and I'm currently working on a third:

Cheers y'all!

Cool stuff. I am a big animation and have a couple projects in the works. You might want to check out the Writer's Room. Great place to connect with fellow screenwriters. I would also recommend that you reach out to Jason Mirch Director of Script Services at Stage 32 (j.mirch@stage32.com). He can give you a lot of guidance regarding your screenplays and making connections.

@Ryan Your concepts sound cool and will delve into reading them when log off here. Kudos at still alive and kicking after beach survival and also congratulations you run eleven bars, have you thought of getting in some free location footage? @Martin Animation seems to be a way forward more than pre covid, even big guns that made thrillers are now turning screenplays to cartoon during social distance.

Good stuff Ryan! I'm screenwriting and directing too and fairly new to Regina. Great thing is... you can craft scripts anywhere!

Hi Ryan,
Just wanted to say hello. I own a small commercial production company and I am looking to transition from commercial work into documentary or longer form feature type work.
Cheers,
Rip
Lee Chambers 100% agree. I'm actually signed up for your seminar on the 28th. I was gonna come in person but I'm a dumb dumb and didn't realize it was in Regina so I had to switch it to online. Debbie Croysdale thanks I hope you like. I'm always appreciative and down with notes. Livin' The Afterlife was actually a concept that I started writing as a live action but then Animation made more sense. The possibilities are endless!
Cool Ryan! Your bio rocks! Have you thought of starting your own production company? I'm near Sudbury Ontario. Love your ideas btw. Consider joining the Writer's Room. If you have questions about anything reach out to director of script services Jason Mirch j.mirch@stage32.com
Sarah Gabrielle Baron Thanks so much for the insight. I greatly appreciate any assistance. I did start a production company called Simply Resistible Productions but the only thing I have put out there so far is a segment I call "Things you should have learned in highschool."

I'll most definitely see you in the writers room!
