Has anyone one tried angel investors or crowdfunding to get you scripts into production. How did it go and how did you start? I am looking for ideas for funding on my scripts. Thanks everyone
This is a great question Rose Buscholl and I would love to see some answers because I have a project that I would like to shoot in Sept/Oct of this year and one of the investors pulled out due to personal health issues.
So, I felt compelled to jump in with my two cents, and then realized - I'm not sure I entirely understand what defines an "Angel Investor". Found this great resource online that helped to define one: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/a/angelinvestor.asp
Based on that definition, it sounds like a person willing to front the money but also has a personal stake in the material. To me, this sounds like an Executive Producer, which can really be anyone on the other end of a contract that brings in the bankroll. *See Kevin Smith's story about the hairdresser who had an idea that became Wild, Wild West (the film).
I think if you're looking for people with money who are invested in your project's message you should consider grants and possibly reaching out to non-profit organizations to see about sponsorships. It could be the emotional/spiritual boost you're looking for without the extra scrutiny that may come with a traditional "Angel Investor".

I hope that helps!
