Introduce Yourself : Hello from Sacamento! by J. Franklin Evans

Hello from Sacamento!

I reckon it's time for me to do this again!

I'm a screenwriter, born and raised in Georgia (USA), now living in northern California. I mostly write horror features and shorts, though I just started on a scifi project. Still haven't had anything produced but I'm still out there swinging away! Hopefully I'll make some progress this year with getting something made. Fingers crossed!

Maurice Vaughan

What's your Sci-Fi project, J. Franklin Evans? A feature, short, or show?

J. Franklin Evans

Maurice Vaughan It's a feature. It's more social scifi than technological, and it'll have some horror overtones here and there, because that's just how I roll.

Greg Lyon

Keep swinging. If you need any help, glad to assist.

Maurice Vaughan

That sounds unique, J. Franklin Evans. I'm not sure if I've heard of Social Sci-Fi movies.

J. Franklin Evans

Thanks, Greg Lyon !

Maurice Vaughan

Was "US" a Social Sci-Fi movie, J. Franklin Evans?

J. Franklin Evans

Maurice Vaughan US could be considered social scifi, though to me it's more horror.

Maurice Vaughan

Me too, J. Franklin Evans. "US" is Horror, but the doppelgangers are the Sci-Fi element.

Maurice Vaughan The Purge movies. Those are more horror as well but that's the general idea.

Maurice Vaughan

Cool, J. Franklin Evans. It looks like there's a lack of Social Sci-Fi movies, so you might be in great position.

J. Franklin Evans

Maurice Vaughan That's what I'm thinking! Oh, The Handmaid's Tale! Don't know why I didn't think of that one earlier.

Brian Carlin

Hello Jeffrey! Good to meet you. I also have written and directed horror/comedy shorts, and am working on a sci-fi action feature. Do you have a particular subgenre of horror that your work focuses on?

Maurice Vaughan

"The Handmaid's Tale" is a Social Sci-Fi, J. Franklin Evans? I've heard about it, and I've seen promo, but I didn't know it was Sci-Fi.

J. Franklin Evans

Maurice Vaughan I consider it scifi. Not sure if that's what everyone else considers it.

Maurice Vaughan

I looked up "The Handmaid's Tale," J. Franklin Evans. It's Sci-Fi.

J. Franklin Evans

Mostly monster based horror, in one form or another.

Maurice Vaughan

Mostly monster based horror. "The Handmaid's Tale" is on my TV watchlist now, J. Franklin Evans! :D
