Hey, you guys!
So, I recently took on a project with someone from here and they've dipped before releasing my payment. They’ve stopped replying to my emails, and I've even left messages on here, but crickets. I'm sure that I'm never going to receive my payment, but I wanted to bring it up on here so as to let the others know and maybe, find a way through. I'm pretty sure that he'd be active on here, he's just trying to appear to have disappeared.
Sorry that happened to you, Isha Mital. What happened exactly?

Hey, Maurice Vaughan
So he commented on one of my posts and asked if I could do illustrations for his project. I asked him for the details, he got in touch via email. He asked me to do the illustrations for the entire series. There were both characters and locations. He wanted me to do it all, and be paid after everything would have been done, but I always charge per milestone, which was per illustration, in this case. So, I had developed and illustrated the first. I asked him to transfer the money after sending him his desired file of the artwork, and shared the details on where to send it. He'd agreed on the rate and everything, but he kept delaying for a week, saying that he was having trouble transferring. How tough is an IBAN transfer? I even asked him to go for MoneyGram or sth similar if that works for him. Anyway, he kept delaying for a week or two and after that, he's just been out of the scene, totally.

Thanks, John Michael German
Appreciate it.
What website did it happen on, Isha Mital? And did you contact the website's team about it?
He contacted me here, on Stage32.

Email support@stage32.com with his name, his Stage 32 profile link, and screenshots of the messages, @Isha Mital. If you aren’t able to take screenshots, copy and paste the messages into the email.
Also, the text in your post doesn't show up on the web browser version of Stage 32. I can see the text in the Stage 32 app though.

I hate hearing about this. Sorry this happened to you, Isha. My only advice it to watermark your work in the future, send the proofs with watermarks, and after payment send the files without the watermark.

Be careful in the future! I've only been on Stage 32 for two weeks and already have been approached by TWO scammers. Always check people out first(Online, LinkedIn, your own private film industry network) and also have a proper contract or copyright agreement signed before sharing anything. I don't know what kind of work it was but there could be a possibility that you can do something legal about it. Don't give up! Fight!

Thanks Maurice Vaughan
I'll get to it.
Oh, what do you suppose could be the reason? I'm using the app, though.

Thanks, Lindbergh E Hollingsworth
I didn't know someone could be like this, so I delivered the final. I'm glad I didn't do the whole series.

What type of work was it?
was there a legal agreement?

That's dishonesty.

Unfortunately, no, Mario Leone
I should have done that. It was character development and illustration for a project.

Sadly, yes, Brenda Mohammed

You're welcome, Isha Mital. I'm not sure why the text in your post doesn't show up on the web browser version of Stage 32. Maybe it was a glitch. If it happens again, you could email support@stage32.com about it.
Lindbergh E Hollingsworth gave you great advice, and I suggest getting legal agreements before working on jobs in the future, like Mario Leone brought up.
