Introduce Yourself : Dress for the job you want by Eric Lotter

Eric Lotter

Dress for the job you want

I write big stories way out of my budget. Because I was never taught to write small. EVER. Even my short (about 20 pages) would be a 50k-100k ask. This year’s goal is to get my characters to pop in the worlds I have created for them. After all - I am only along for the ride. I had a feature optioned in the late 90’s and the deal fell apart because of someone who’s name includes two J’s, a hit song, and some pretty decent talent attached. I refuse to let be my 15 mins.

2024 (And it’s not over yet!)

2 completed features. Submitted to 12+ competitions. (it can be very expensive and I have a supportive wife!)

1 pilot for a limited series concept

1 short

and the beginning of an outline for a True Crime feature where I testified as an expert witness. (it was so bad that I. can’t find my protagonist and the bad guy- was a really bad guy!)

2025- I’d like to add Producer to the resume. (not an invite to solicit use crowdfunding sources because I will be looking!)

Let make something together!

That's a great stack of work Eric Lotter. And I"m with you. Best to write from what's in you than to worry about budget. We shouldn't pretend to know what tomorrow will bring.

Ok, I'll start dressing as a food taster, Eric Lotter. Haha Congratulations on what you got done in 2024! And there's still a lot of time yet in the year. Impressive!

Vincent Turner

I think you're on the right track. If you don't want to act you can hold camera with a microphone on top and shoot. It will take a lot of failed attempts to get them off the ground if you go that route

Eric Lotter

Maurice Vaughan NO. ONE. WILL. QUESTION. YOU. Walk in like you own the place, and commence tasting. No notes.
