Your Stage : How do you gain reach for your Web Series & Webisodes in today's compartmentalized and segmented online Jungle? by Chad Theodore Everson

How do you gain reach for your Web Series & Webisodes in today's compartmentalized and segmented online Jungle?

The online jungle has changed as the faucets that control its full are more stingy with the organic nature that once was the internet. How do you break through and gain the reach your project deserves?

Jewell Williams

Hi Theodore, I am no expert, yet I ask this question every time I make a blog post or video and post on YouTube. I don't think there is a clear answer, though I have seen success when I target a topic that pertains to a specific audience. I get more views. I have also noticed that if I speak about a specific person and share that video on their timeline I have gotten a lot of views. When it comes to web series and webisodes, the key is subject matter. Though I do think some people pay for views, which I think is stupid. Marketing the videos is not different then marketing a car to sell. I am researching now how I can use direct mailing to build an audience. Hope this helps.

Jewell I thank you for your response. I could not of answered it better. I really dislike the fake views that can be purchased or games they play to pump up numbers. But it is funny how numbers reign supreme...in everything now and especially online. I gamed Twitter and spent way to much time there. I figured out quick how to work within their TOS and human nature. I followed 100 people a day and unfollowed those who were to slow or did not bother to follow back. I did that click by click no automation and grew a good reach there. And it was funny how people perceived those numbers. I also laugh when I think about all the money, time and energy that many spent there in its early days. I think we have to think of online as a battle ground and all is fair in love and war, but I have to admit, the numbers gained on Twitter are but just a paper tiger. I am not sure that in the end it was worth the hours wasted clicking.

Google "ways to promote a web series" and you'll get a ton of results. There's a single PDF high on the results which expounds on 40 ways in one document. I'm always on the lookout for material like this, and I'm snagging that one! If you need assistance strategizing or implementing plans, I'm working in social media promotions and I'm available to to take on more clients at www.brasstacksmedia.com. Feel free to get in touch.
