I'm wrestling with this right now. I can make a pretty miserable living, but still a living, if I work long hours writing stuff I hate. Or I can rely entirely on the husband and write only what I like. Which is part of why I'm here - I have a LOT of IP that I own the movie rights to, some of which might work out very well for the right company, and that would be money for work I've already done ;). But it is a tough one. Writing is DEFINITELY a passion not pay endeavor.
