Shakespeare in NYC - Saw a good one...

Belasco Theater. A company that is mostly from the New Globe, is doing Twelfth Night, and Richard III. Costumes from the New Globe, the music is on period instruments, and the acting was some of the best of the Bard I have seen. We saw Twelfth Night. Peter Hamilton Deyer's Feste was particularly inspiring. A great voice, a presence that belies his stature, not to mention some real musical chops - he played pipe and tabor, a particularly demanding pairing. (play a 3 holed pipe with one hand, and beat a drum with the other). Oh yea, the theater itself is worth a visit. Dates from 1907, and was restored 3 years ago. The ceiling is filled with stained glass medallions, turns out the place is the largest private collection of Tiffany studio glass. Runs thru Feb 16. They even have stage seating... http://www.shakespearebroadway.com./ Disclosure: I know one of the musicians, and even loaned her an instrument to use in the performance.
