Hello all, I am a screenwriter from Chicago. Kudos to Stage 32 for connecting people! I've written a feature thriller about global warming. Title: LIGHT. Logline: The ultimate battle between light and dark begins now. When a freshman senator uncovers incredible new energy sources saving the world from global warming and threatening the status quo, the old guard in place seek to end his political life. I'd love to see it produced!

Sounds like an updated "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington". Sounds like you have a chance. Good luck.
Sounds like my kind of movie!
That sounds like a very interesting premise, but I'm curious: why would "the old guard" be against that kind of energy source? Wouldn't they rather want to get their hands on it themselves?
i hope you get to this topic movie first, sounds very interesting. political controversy over global warming (whether natural or man-made) can only heighten the interest as "each side" will be hoping your movie backs their position! plenty of room for controversy as a sideline plot. one side or another will scream for your head and, hey, sometimes any publicity is good publicity. hmmm...the logline seems a little "light" tho...and if the worst thing that can happen to the good guy is that he loses his political life (as opposed with losing his REAL life, well...) how about something like: "a freshman senator uncovers radical energy sources to save a burning world ... but his greedy political buddies turn into assassins to silence him forever. but, hey, what do i know? nothing! i am willing to admit i am wrong about all of this. one thing i was wondering about was the first line of your logline and title. are you suggesting that the world may or will be plunged into total darkness or that a politician will lose their political life? is your first line the real story or needed or should it instead be addressed further in the logline? i really apologize if i got anything wrong. i would go see your movie the way you already have it. ...best of luck... stephen thor

This just faintly reminds me of the movie, The Promised Land, it's about fracking for natural gas, and the kicker was it was financed by OPEC. Anyways, interesting topic!
