Introduce Yourself : Broadcast Educator and Screenwriter by Steven A. Miller

Hi. I've been on the site for a few months and found the discussions to be very interesting. They run the gamut from altruistic to selfish, and sanity to insanity. This is a great site for the creative mind. I love the entire writing process. It is therapeutic, riveting, and enables me to utilize my creative energy in a positive way. I write about experiences from my life and create characters that reflect different moods. It is so empowering. I have completed multiple drafts on five screenplays and love my characters and subjects. The downside is I feel as if I'm on a desert island without a knowledgeable and knowing reader to comment on my work unless I lay out a significant amount of money. We all need to be edited and have someone else review our creations to let us know if we are going in the right direction. But, that also requires trust, compassion, and a sense that your reader has your best interests at heart. As a college teacher, I think I am the one that provides this for my broadcasting students and am told it helps them see things that aren't evident. I know I need that, too. But, that hasn't deterred me and I will continue this sordid love affair with writing and the creative process. I hope all of you do, too.
