SYNOPSIS:

Holly Lorry is entering her forties as an artist ready for her first major gallery opening. But her lack of self-confidence has held her career in check, and caused her relationships to self-destruct. When a suspicious fire destroys her home and art, she comes close to a nervous breakdown. As Holly attempts to get her life in order, she crosses paths with Maggie Flynn, an aging eccentric whose life-threatening accident brings them together in a symbiotic relationship. Like the Wise Woman of the tribe, Maggie has lived a wild and full life, but childless, has no one to benefit from her experience. With Maggie as her mentor, Holly attempts to break free of her controlling agent, Christine Scott, by going on the road, and holding exhibitions at galleries from New York to Los Angeles. To care for the ailing Maggie, they hire Roxanne, a Cuban refugee and newly graduated nurse, who has a 'tell it like it is' attitude.
