Sekou Keita

I’m an African guy torn between Africa and the US. I’ve spent most years living and working in the US than in Africa, where I was born but yet I crave traditional West African foods than their US counterparts.

Growing up, my life revolved around sitting and listening to stories and traditions passed down from many generations by specialized oralists called Djelis. Storytelling is to Western African as Apple pie is to America (I’ve been told lol, I’d rather peach cobbler).

I am here to learn how to digitally transport my audience to my childhood - I guess I want to show you better than I can tell you. Help me tell those stories.

I am a foodie - eating by reading African legends and stories. I was raised on storytelling, I hope to find my place.
