SYNOPSIS:

TITLE: 85 and Ready

GENRE: Drama, Comedy, Reality

SHOW LENGTH: 30 Minutes

SUMMARY:

With over 20 years of working in high-volume restaurants, a burnt-out chef needs a change, a job that he thinks will be simpler and less stressful. He accepts a position at a senior living community just looking to get a paycheck and skate by, then, little by little, he starts bonding with a few uniquely charming residents. Now, over 15 years later, Chef shares with us the unspoken side of life in a senior living community from his POV.

Each episode takes place in a fictional senior living community called Med Management Manor. The average age is 85 with a woman-to-man ratio of 6:1. Men are at a premium leading to a lot of 85 year old sexual encounters and not just with each other! Daily occurrences are out of the ordinary, definitely out of control and, amongst other things, always involve sexuality, confusion, total confusion, drama, comedy, fragility and death

The Chef is always the most popular manager because he provides sustenance, is easy to talk to and very likable. He is an alcoholic pot-head, but, in spite of his addictions, is functional and somehow gets the job done on a daily basis. More often than not, he is the confidant for residents and staff alike. Situations unfold that no one would ever expect to see at any age. The most unconventional and oftentimes deviant residents have their weirdly funny, crazed or tragic stories divulged each week. In addition, one to four minute vignettes of sad, humorous, bizarre and occasionally just plain terrible events are re-created and may be offensive to some.
