Larry D. Brown II, aka Bobby Drake, emerges from a musical lineage, immortalized in a photo of his mother, pregnant in a purple catsuit, singing on stage while his dad, clad in a zebra-patterned halter top, plays bass—a genesis of his musical journey.
With over 15 years as a music producer, Larry, a recipient of the Independent Music Awards' "Best Spoken Word Album," has crafted sonic landscapes for both himself and fellow singer-songwriters. His spoken word performances, traversing intimate life narratives to offbeat beats, evolved into a one-man show, a cinematic fusion of his productions and stage presence.

During this period, Larry delved into music-to-picture, securing contracts with music houses and contributing to commercial demos. Simultaneously, he made significant strides as an Independent Television Segment Producer, earning an EMMY Award in 2018 for his work on the PBS Local 10/36 Black Nouveau's "Crossing The Bridge" and a National Association of Black Journalists Award for the PBS Black Nouveau program "Trippin."

Beyond his accolades, Larry is a devoted husband and proud father of two, embodying a life where family, music, and storytelling intersect on the grand stage of his existence.
