GENRE: Drama, Fantasy
LOGLINE:

A neglected teenage athlete surrounded by toxic relationships befriends a Native American man who acts as her spiritual guide into the Universal secrets of Love.

SYNOPSIS:

Janice Dillon, a 17-year-old who is a codependent of her heroine-addicted mother finds solace in the sport of track and field. Janice is an exceptional sprinter but unable to display kindness and sportsmanship to her teammates. Her mother has recently moved in her drug-addicted vagabond lover, Herbert Townsend, making home life unbearable for Janice.

One day during practice, Tim Bostic, who is a student, as well as assistant coach, informs the team of a Medley Relay that he will incorporate into their annual tournament against a rival team. Janice refuses to run the relay with two teammates, Haven and Liliana, whom she feels are losers on the track field. Tim eventually kicks her off the team because of her condescending attitude toward the girls.

During her suspension, she finds comforting words from Mr. Frank, a Native American Indian, who owns the local grocery store. He tells her stories of his native people but also tells her that his ancestors believed in a parallel world that exists in the sky where totem messengers offering spiritual guidance lived, Mr. Frank goes on tell her that whenever she feels conflicted she can call upon her guardian helpers for wisdom.

Home life gets even worst for Janice, and she decides to kill Herbert, to get him out of her mother’s life. She asks her best friend Bridget to assist. One evening she arrives home and meets Stephen Townsend, Herbert’s son. Stephen says that he’s come to see about his Dad. At that moment Herbert became a human in Janice’s eyes. She feels a bond with Stephen because they both had drug-addicted parents.

Janice spares Herbert’s life and instead falls in love with Stephen. Janice is sporadically smoking weed and drinking alcohol, which is all orchestrated by Stephen. Mr. Frank finds out about her behavior and gives her a necklace carved into a Pronghorn Antelope. He tells her to seek her Spirit Animal for guidance. Janice finally realizes Stephen's selfish motives and decides she’s had enough. She finally takes Mr. Frank’s advice and researches her spirit animal, and through that random act begins her journey into the Universal awareness that love is everywhere at all times.
