Chris Derochie

I am a character and VFX animator with 30 years of experience in every aspect of the industry from major feature films to award winning tv series, video games, commercials, products and much more. I was nominated for an Emmy for Visual Effects in 2010 for Stargate Universe and a VES award for Falling Skies in 2013. I Specialize in creature, animal and realistic human animation but I'm equally proficient in cartoon styled animation.

I'm an experienced animation director with the ability to clearly communicate an artistic vision to others and pull a team together.

I am also a teacher with experience in live environments - classes in Denmark and lectures in several venues such as the Vancouver Film School, Ballyfermot College in Dublin, and classes in various studios. I have also taught to groups of online students with Animation Mentor for several years and I have recorded lectures for the Vancouver Animation School.

Writing - I am currently working on a 25 volume series of books on advanced animation techniques and I have been writing a series of fantasy novels for over 9 years.

Storyboarding - I have boarded many tv shows and other projects, such as the popular Stargate Atlantis series.

Acting - I have appeared in small roles in several tv series, commercials, short films and musical theatre.
