Two female transplant surgeons are pulled into organ trafficking when a fringe scientist sets up a black market ring in Los Angeles.

SYNOPSIS:

Organ trafficking makes a new home in Los Angeles at Benedict Park Hospital. Doctor Arianna Nasdaday is the chief surgeon at Benedict with a hidden history of organ trafficking. She’s been staying under the radar for two years now. However, her past catches up with her in the form her former boss/partner, Doctor Le Seaux, the French sociopathic and wealthy organ ring leader. Le Seaux recruited Arianna as an assistant years ago when she was fresh out of Cambridge University. She was unaware he would bring her into the trafficking world through Europe, Asia, and India. Arianna needed the money and longed to getaway after the death of her father and sister. Arianna is alive due to her sister, Danya, sacrificing before dying. Danya’s ghost conspires with her to kill Le Seaux throughout the first season. They were developing a way to prolong the life of vital organs post-mortem before Le Seaux revealed his plan to monopolize the black market instead of saving people. She escaped to the states during their dangerous operation in India.

Arianna performed an illegal but successful kidney operation for a Congolese Prison warden in the valley, Ntwali a year ago. Thus establishing an unconventional working relationship. Therefore, making it a “broker friendly” hospital (meaning it’s open to trafficking) She cleans up his messes. He keeps quiet about her past. However, Ntwali is approached by Alexander Villa, the right hand man of Le Seaux and undercover FBI Informant. Le Seaux demands a kidney for a wealthy client in NY and a partnership with Arianna and Ntwali.

Caroline Dyer, a skilled but jaded resident surgeon at Benedict, incidentally collides with Arianna’s past, after her father, Henry Dyer, is dying of kidney disease. She’s been working at Benedict for only three months and is dating the Chief RN, Jonathan. The clock is ticking on his life and he’s too far down on the transplant list. Feeling helpless to save her father, Caroline turns to an option she never considered. A male victim of a car wreck arrives at the hospital, who matches her father’s blood type. She attempts to take his kidney and perform an illegal transplant surgery. After a beating from Le Seaux’s men; a violent incentive for Arianna to join his operation, she intervenes to help Caroline with the aid of Benedict’s dominatrix/mortician, Dr. Elise Breckenbauer.

Caroline saves her father and Arianna completes her first assignment with Le Seaux. Now Arianna is pulled back into the dark world of organ trafficking, but with the plan to kill Le Seaux and use her talent the way she intended...for good. Incidentally, Henry begins to react poorly to the new kidney, thus creating the threat of Caroline losing the one anchor in her life and losing her license. Thereby, catapulting her further into the dark world of organ trafficking.

Alexander struggles to balance his undercover job and separation from his wife and son. He works closely with Le Seaux and keeps an eye on Arianna. As Le Seaux applies the pressure and demands of his business on Arianna, Alexander, and Ntwali, Caroline is pulled into a partnership in which her and Arianna both attempt to find the good and light in their dangerous path of employment.
