SYNOPSIS:

Eight teachers try to navigate life, art, and the educational system, while school guidelines, parental intervention, and strikingly different personalities mean conflict at every turn. Mr. Z, a new substitute teacher at Huxta Middle School, attempts to bridge the hierarchical division amongst the staff while learning the ever-changing rules and regulations of the administration. As a sub, he is the bottom of the totem pole, just under the custodial staff. Above him, “The Specials”, a group of elective teachers, struggle for power and resources from “The Core”, the required curriculum instructors. Having the same job rarely means having the same goals, and if ignorance is bliss, sometimes too much knowledge is agony.
