Author Larry Garner is a Colorado native, US Navy veteran, life-long gearhead, biker, custom vehicle builder and painter, welder and fabricator, race car driver, and inveterate story-teller. As a result of extensive travels and a gregarious nature, he has met a multitude of characters and been in situations that lend themselves to being recounted. The problem with that is that most of the characters he's met don't want to be linked to certain situations. Writing fiction is a way to tell wild stories without getting anyone arrested or divorced. Garner's first two novels, D-E-D, DEAD and Ded Reckoning: Vengeance Takes a Road Trip, were both finalists in the Colorado Humanities' Center for the Book Colorado Book Awards. The third novel in the Hammer series will be published in early 2021.
After hearing for years that his novels would make great films, Larry is working toward finding the right people to assist him in this ambitious endeavor. Having never written a screenplay, the prospect is daunting, but that may be the next step in this process. As his wife says, "What can it hurt to try?" Anyone interested in being involved in turning these compelling, timely stories into action-packed films is heartily encouraged to send a message...what can it hurt?
