SYNOPSIS:
This is an adventure suspense story for the whole family. Spurred on by local folklore about mysterious cave dwellers, two twelve-year olds go exploring a cave in the desert and discover a strange looking dead body. The deceased body is from a primitive tribe of mutes who were clandestinely brought to America to be studied as a possible missing link between humans and apes. Some of them escaped from the secret government research facility and began living in caves in the desert. Viewing the escapees as a threat to public safety, local authorities want to hunt them down. The two twelve-year olds join in on the efforts to repatriate the cave dwellers back to their home in Borneo. One of the kids blusters her way past her fears, while her friend struggles more openly with his. By working together, they're able to lure the villains into a trap and defeat the legend of Danger Cave. The story is a variation on the Harry Potter kids suspense formula that allows kids to flirt with danger while still feeling safe. It's aimed primarily at 6-14 year olds but will have appeal for viewers of all ages, especially parents looking for non-violent entertainment options.
