İpek Tugay, graduated from Toronto University holding a bachelor’s degree with double major in sociology and film studies. During her university years, she had production experience in film and television in America, Canada, France and Turkey.
In 2015, she was present in Toronto International Film Festival as the coordinator of Turks@TIFF program. She started to work at Zeynofilm, which has been founded by producer Zeynep Özbatur Atakan. She managed various projects at Zeynofilm such as; “Turkish Waves” that was organized in Brisbane Asia Pacific Film Festival, “Europe Film Academy Young Audience Award”, “Sabancı Foundation Short Film Competition” and “Yapımlab Pitching Awards”.
During her position in Zeynofilm she managed and executed co-production processes and distribution/marketing processes of the projects that Zeynofilm was involved as international co-producer. These projects included Asghar Farhadi’s The Salesman and Everybody Knows, Elia Suleiman’s It Must Be Heaven. She also represented and coordinated all films by Nuri Bilge Ceylan that was represented by Zeynofilm.
She was the producer’s assistant and general coordinator from pre-production stage to distribution of “The Wild Pear Tree” (2018) by Nuri Bilge Ceylan.
From 2015 until 2018 she acted in various roles in Antalya Film Forum Co-Production Market team and was the general coordinator of the organization on her last two years.
In 2019 she has completed the production of her first feature documentary Mr Wink: Ali Arif Ersen.
She is now working as Content Executive and Producer in Chantier Films based in Turkey.
