Roslyn Franken

Roslyn Franken is a 3-time award-winning author and international public speaker with on-stage experience and behind the camera as a Script Supervisor. She was born in Montreal, Canada, to Holocaust and atomic bomb survivors and had her first taste of the live stage at age 10 in the lead role of Gal in a community theatre production of "RAM From Mars". When at 12, she announced she wanted to be an actress, her parents encouraged her to get a practical education to fall back on in case the acting career "didn't work out". She played the lead role of Sandra Dee in her high school production of "Grease" and then listened to her parents and got a business degree, but with a minor in entrepreneurship, determined to be self-employed. Her passion for acting, writing, entertainment and the arts continued.

After beating cancer at 29 and winning her weight loss battles at 39, Roslyn returned to the live stage as a public speaker delivering her stage presentations about her first book, "The A List: 9 Guiding Principles for Healthy Eating and Positive Living". In her presentations, she touched briefly on her parents' wartime experiences as examples of resiliency and positive mental attitude. To her surprise people wanted to hear more about her parents' life story. This led to the writing of her second book, "Meant to Be" (isbn: 978-0-9784274-1-2) about her parents' amazing survival, love and triumph over tragedy as two unlikely survivors of WWII.

She took "Meant to Be", from the page to the stage and now is taking it from the stage to the screen. A feature film adaptation is currently in development. She has studied acting with the intent of playing the role of herself in her movie and has also gained on set experience as a Script Supervisor on a feature film and a short film with the intent of working on more films both in front of and behind the camera.
