An honest Rookie Cop is killed with her own gun by a dirty DEA Agent, who stages the crime scene to look like a suicide, but her Father sues the State of South Carolina to prove his daughter was murdered.

SYNOPSIS:

After her first husband beats her and her second one gets herpes and doesn’t tell her, CARLYN, 32, moves back in with her FOLKS and announces that she wants to take police officer training classes. They’re unable to talk her out of becoming a cop because she’s head strong just like her father. So, he loans her the tuition money.

In cop school, she meets EDDIE. He too is divorced and lonely. They become soul mates and rent a house together. When they graduate, a female POLICE CHIEF hires Carlyn as Season’s Gate Island’s only female Police Officer and Eddie becomes a Sheriff’s Deputy on the mainland. At first, Carlyn is excited about getting posted on this exclusive playground for the rich and famous. But soon, residents complain about her because she does her job “by the book.” If people break the law, she gives them tickets, no matter how much money they have. To get the heat off, from the Village Manager, the Police Chief puts her on the night shift. Now, she rarely gets to see Eddie or spend time with her two dogs, her babies.

On one of her precious nights off, after she and Eddie have an exceptional romp in the hay, he takes her hands in his, looks into her eyes, and tells her his ex-wife plans to move out of State with their little boy if he doesn’t go back and try to fix what went wrong with their marriage. He doesn’t want to break up with Carlyn though. He just wants to keep their relationship on the down-low until he can get his ex to sign joint custody papers. Carlyn goes ballistic and kicks him out.

Late one night, she sees a package fall into the ocean from a small plane. Some MEN in a motorboat pick it up and take it to a golf cart that’s waiting by the dock. SOMEBODY with night vision binoculars watches her follow the golf cart to an upscale neighborhood, where she sees the Men stash their cargo in a back yard storage shed.

Carlyn teams up with a DEA Agent to bring down the drug operation. But he doesn’t intend for her drug bust to succeed. Neither do binocular Man, the SHERIFF, the DISTRICT ATTORNEY, or the GOVERNOR because they’re all on the take from a Mexican drug cartel. A split second before the dirty narc puts a bullet in her head, Carlyn does something that ruins his attempt to make the murder look like a suicide . Her father sues the State of South Carolina and the court changes the manner of her death from suicide to homicide.
