An independent film company is looking for an Editor to help with an independent feature film. This project is focused on giving voice to not widely known stories that bring value by sharing these stories with the community. This is an unpaid position that requires showing a commitment to the belief that there is still hope in times of despair. The position will offer valuable experience as an Editor on the ground floor of this start up project. Responsibilities: · Collaborate with the director and producers to understand the vision of the film · Cut, splice, rearrange raw footage to create scenes, sequences and more · Make choices that affect the film’s pace, atmosphere, narrative, etc. · Collaborate with sound designers, colorists, and VFX supervisors in post-production · Coordinate online or print publishing cycle and manage content area · Set publication standards and establish goals and expectations · Suggest stories and generate headline ideas in alignment with targeted audience’s preferences Requirements: · Must have 2+ years of experience · Must have a flexible schedule · Must be reliable · Must know how to operate several types of cameras · Must have effective communication skills · Must have reliable transportation Time Commitment: The successful candidate will dedicate 3 to 4 hours per week supporting pre and post production responsibilities related to this project. From 2010-2014, I created 8 zero budget short films, with associated behind-the-scenes featurettes, under the banner Lee Neville Entertainment in London, England. I am considering reviving some of my unproduced short film scripts as new Lee Neville Entertainment projects at some point in 2024. Note that these would be completely unpaid and so are aimed at those looking to showcase their talent via showreel material or to simply be creative between paying gigs. This is not a job. It is a collaboration opportunity. We all like to be paid, as do I, but I also like to be creative in-between until those paying jobs come along. Seeking someone with production experience, however great or small, to initiate an independent 501c non-profit production company (think A24 but as a non-profit). The idea is to produce film and television with an eye towards donating all above-cost revenue to NGOs and other entities working in the field. The ideal candidate will have had prior production experience (to balance out my lack thereof), but extensive experience with large Hollywood productions is not necessary. I have scripts that would work well for this project but the company would produce other writers' scripts as well (projects produced by this company could be in a variety of genres but have a humanistic bent). I would like to start a movement by taking advantage of the public's appetite for entertainment and using it to make a difference. I am willing to commute but telecommuting is acceptable.
