Praise to the Editors!

Hey, Stage 32 community!

As a filmmaker who's dabbled in the world of short micro-budget films, I just have to say this about editing – it's nothing short of magical! Despite being a relative beginner, I've already experienced the joy and challenges of spending countless hours poring over footage a...

I'm Post Producer for Season 2 of "Tokyo Vice" for Max. Collaborative Editing online - best way to do it

Next to being a filmmaker, I am also a proud filmmaking teacher. I mostly work with young filmmakers in the age-range of 16-27. They make short films in small groups, from creating an idea all the wy up to organising a premier in a movie theatre. And everything in between. For the editing proces I a...

Hi Fran, thanks. I checked it out. It looks like Screenflow is just for Mac users. I know the students are both PC and Mac users. This makes things more difficult. Do you know if this is true?

Fran Harris

Hidde Simons yes that’s correct - it’s currently MAC only - there are some great options for PC that you’ve mentioned but Screenflow is a fairly affordable option for Mac users....

Ai enters chroma keying

Ai is now helping artists get cleaner keys with colored lighting and ai relighting. Do you think this technique is going to catch on?

Lindbergh E Hollingsworth

Yes. Anything that will add to quality without adding costs will be used.

Sam Sokolow

Agree with Lindbergh - if it's about using technology to assist artists when creating and it can increase quality then it can catch on. Green screen can still be tricky at times so advancements are usually welcome.

Shadow Dragu-Mihai, Esq., Ipg

It's been used for a while now here and in other editing workflows. I guess some people are playing catchup since they just learned the term AI.

Paul Rivers
Dacinci Resolve 18

Can you suggest one great class to learn a solid "workflow" DaVinci Resolve for editing and/or VFX?

Alan Borislavov Kazandzhiev

Hello there! I suggest learning from Kullen Kelly on YouTube. The best grading content is his for sure.

Paul Rivers

Thanks Alan I will check him out.

Why Netflix Is Using Machine Learning To Train AI To Do Match Cuts

Wow, this is interesting.

Niki H

My personal opinion is that everyone involved in making art should be concerned. We should all be paying attention and speaking up now, when it matters. Before our ownership and likeness rights are dissolved. Not after.

This is a great post, touching on many of the things I learned editing features as well. I just wish I had the luxury of editing while the feature was shooting! I’m usually doing art dept, or sound, or AD so I don’t get to look at the footage thoroughly till we’re done.

Maurice Vaughan

Does that happen sometimes, Mike Boas? Editing while the movie is being filmed? I thought all movies were edited after filming was done.
