hero/heroine

A hero or heroine is a script’s major protagonist in a film with whom the audience identifies and sympathizes. Character traits of a hero or heroine often include being young, virtuous, handsome, pretty, etc. Contrast with the "antagonist" or "heavy" (the villain or evil force).
