About the job

An independent film company is looking for an Editor to help with an independent feature film. This project is focused on giving voice to not widely known stories that bring value by sharing these stories with the community. This is an unpaid position that requires showing a commitment to the belief that there is still hope in times of despair.  The position will offer valuable experience as an Editor on the ground floor of this start up project.

Responsibilities:

·      Collaborate with the director and producers to understand the vision of the film

·      Cut, splice, rearrange raw footage to create scenes, sequences and more

·      Make choices that affect the film’s pace, atmosphere, narrative, etc.

·      Collaborate with sound designers, colorists, and VFX supervisors in post-production

·      Coordinate online or print publishing cycle and manage content area

·      Set publication standards and establish goals and expectations

·      Suggest stories and generate headline ideas in alignment with targeted audience’s preferences

Requirements:

·      Must have 2+ years of experience

·      Must have a flexible schedule

·      Must be reliable

·      Must know how to operate several types of cameras

·      Must have effective communication skills

·      Must have reliable transportation

Time Commitment:

The successful candidate will dedicate 3 to 4 hours per week supporting pre and post production responsibilities related to this project.
