What’s up, Creative Army!

It’s been a wild start to 2025 for the entertainment industry as a whole. And I know many of you have been feeling it, too.

Between my travel schedule, the LA fires that hit close to home, the ongoing M&A (mergers and acquisitions) activity reshaping the business, and the powerful resurgence of independent film, I’ve been on the ground, in the meetings, and having conversations with industry leaders every single week. And let me tell you… there’s a LOT happening right now that you, as a creative, need to know.

This is a time of massive change but also massive opportunity.

More than ever before, the doors are open for global creatives to have their voices heard. We’re seeing stories cross borders, we’re seeing international shows take over our streaming platforms, and we’re seeing power shift directly into the hands of the creators. The technology, the distribution models, the audiences, they’re all evolving. And that means you need to evolve, too.

So let’s talk about it.

I’m hosting a brand new FREE Ask Me Anything (AMA) event this Wednesday, April 23rd, LIVE over Riverside, and I want you there.

This is your chance to ask me anything about your craft, your career, the current marketplace, or whatever challenges you’re facing. Whether you’re a screenwriter, filmmaker, producer, actor, or working in post, there’s something in this AMA for you. And trust me, I’m bringing everything I’ve been seeing, hearing, and learning from the biggest names in the business to this conversation.

Did I mention it’s FREE?

So mark your calendar. Tell your friends. Share this with your creative circles. The more, the merrier.

All you need to do is register FREE here.

I can’t wait to see you there.

Let’s go.

Can Ben Affleck's The Accountant 2 Pull A John Wick: Chapter 2 At The Box Office?

The Big Question is this: Why do they take so long to do sequels? Now that they are much older, the characters are so different looking now. Could this hurt them at the box office? John Wick on the other hand, pumped out their sequels relatively quickly. The Accountant premiered in Los Angeles on Oc...

Hey, Mark Deuce. There are different reasons why it takes so long to do sequels, like a studio or production company might be focused on making other movies. I don't think the gap will hurt The Accoun...

That can be the case Maurice Vaughan but look at John Wick Franchise. They moved quickly and did not take 9 years, also heard that Ben doesn´t like sequels could be the case as well. Cheers!...

A question

Why are many people obsessed with celebrity couples? Is it something natural or gets drilled into us because of publicity? Even I take an interest in this sometimes, but I find way to curb it.

Please don't use their names I am just asking about it and would like to respect private lives as much as I can.

Stephen Folker

Because they are public figures.

Imola Orbán

Because they look perfect and cute. At least that is how the tabloid media often portray them.

Danny Range

What marketing taught me is unfortunately most of the world runs on looks. Celebrities are attractive, usually, and when they're single, they're on fire. When they date somebody, it's two audiences co...

Frank Van Der Meijden typo? You can click the down arrow of your post on the top right corner and click ‘Edit’ if you like?

Geoff Hall Yeah I know about that solution on my laptop. But on my phone as well? I couldn’t find it in the app.

Agency and Representation

I would like to know are agents and representatives paid upfront, or do they get paid when you do.

Lindbergh E Hollingsworth

This is vague and not enough details. As a writer you may have to pay for the creation of a shooting schedule and budget, or the producer can pay for these two items. Ideally the producer does (howeve...

Lindbergh E Hollingsworth

Kevin, your question was already answered with an explanation about how, when agents and managers are paid. You don't pay them.

Kevin Hager

But where should the fake agents or imposters impersonating celebrities be reported.

Lindbergh E Hollingsworth

If you meet them here on S32, report them to S32. Outside of this, there's no place to report them that I know of. If anyone here on S32 has input, please share!

Disney Dreams and Good Things

I am still trying for my dreams. I have ideas, many written out for Disney. I even have a revised version of the song Evermore from the 2017 remake of Beauty and the Beast which shows Belle and Beast professing their love. A Minecraft Movie Domestic Box Office Lands On Studio's All-Time Highest-Grossing Charts In Just Three Weeks

A short word for Easter Sunday

This is from the Brazilian writer, Fernando Sabino:

“Tudo no fim dá certo. Se não deu, é porque ainda não chegou ao fim.”

“Everything works out in the end. If it doesn’t, it’s because it hasn’t reached the end yet.”

You could probably apply this to writing as well…
