Financing / Crowdfunding : Selling your short film by Jane Sanger

Hi, I have put this on the distribution lounge but seeing as financing is also about getting a return on your money or getting money back that will fund your next film…. I know most films languish on hard drives after their festival run but if your film wins awards are there any UK, French or US distributors you know of short film? I seem to remember there was an initiative at Cannes Film Festival where the best short films were chosen and screened to buyers. I can’t remember the name. Do you also know any outlets, channels etc that show short film giving you a fee or share of revenue? Thank you
