Pitching - Written vs. Verbal

Hope everyone is hanging in there. It's a great time to write! I just finished my third screenplay, and now I'm working on my written pitch for each. I'm nervous to verbally pitch, so I thought I'd do the written first, then work from there. Any suggestions?

Got it.

Thom Reese

We have practice pitch sessions in the Writers Room every Thursday. A great safe place to practice.

Tamara Steren

Thanks, Thom. Hopefully, I'll get the courage soon to verbally pitch!

Dorothy Harris

Tamara Steren yes what Thom Reese said. I joined in on one this Thursday just to see how everything goes and now next week I get to pitch. I am nervous but I am studying all the old pitches that they have in the vault.

Tamara Steren

Good idea. Thanks, Dorothy!

I watched pitch tank and 2 practice pitch seasons first to find out how it was done and then decided to dive in to an exec pitch session and the next practice one, and book a pitch session with an exec. So just dive in Tamara and join the sweaty palms club!! The great Stage 32 make it a safe place and give great tips to make us better.

Thanks, Ricki, for the encouragement!

Hi Tamara, Good luck with both. Read your written pitch and it will be much easier to transition to verbal.

You will do great. I suggest a sales course for the verbally timid. Dale Carnegie is a great one!
