Screenwriting, Networking

I really love the creating process so much and I really look forward to collaborating with other writers. Do you guys like creating stories on your own or with people?

Maurice Vaughan

Josiah Bhola Hillaire I mainly like to create stories and write scripts alone, but I've worked with other writers, producers, directors, etc. before.

Debbie Croysdale

Alone unless someone shares a story that deeply resonates with me but I prep in silence first cos talking, other persons energy, even sounds can distract from instant organic core beliefs how best I’d execute idea. However I’m happy to discuss or change anything immediately if paid for someone else’s project and give birth to exactly what they ask.

Rodriquez Fruitbat

I often write alone, but have collaborated on several feature scripts. Each experience with co-writers was wildly different, but also very rewarding.

Josiah Bhola Hillaire

Maurice Vaughan me too. When I write my scripts and create alone, it feels like I’m connecting to my characters on a deeper level and it’s my way of getting to know each of them one by one.

"When I write my scripts and create alone, it feels like I’m connecting to my characters on a deeper level and it’s my way of getting to know each of them one by one." I've never thought of writing alone that way, Josiah Bhola Hillaire, but now that I think about it, you're right. It's like a "one-on-one friendship building with each character" type of thing. :)

Amy Jayne Conley

I like asking someone "what if" and then seeing where they take it. I've had some long chats with friends about ideas and they've helped me work through plot holes! Two friends actually gave me HOURS of conversation around an animated series I'm developing the stories for - I love that side of writing. Getting excited about characters, losing yourself for a bit in the hours of discussion that can come from a real juicy story and character set. Nothing better! And just how good storytelling should be!

If I wanted to pursue a television career, I would practice writing with co-writers, write full outlines, every scene detailed, practice to write fast.

Stephanie Munch

Josiah, that's actually a good question - I used to work alone as a novelist, until very recently when I asked J. Neilson to help me write the character based on him in my latest book - it was so much fun, and one of the reasons why I'm here today, hoping to find creatives to work with and learn with!

Josiah Bhola Hillaire

@StephanieMunich that’s awesome.

Maverick Knox

I like creating on my own because in the end nobody knows my characters better than I do. Ive started trying to learn how to write and collaborate with people because thats how its done in the industry and ive got to learn how to work with others

Josiah Bhola Hillaire

Maverick Knox you and me both. I too like creating on my own, but at the same time, I don’t mind collaborating with other people.

Sarina S

Mostly alone… also open for a writers room... so both... ☺️

Josiah Bhola Hillaire

Me too @TrinaJackson
