Maurice, Thanks for your comments. Sure, wanted to clarify that "web series" means a short episode series intended for Youtube or other direct to viewer platform. If you produce or develop a series intended as a 10 minute or 15 minute episode web series, no network or major streamer will have interest, first because they want longer format content, but also because they want exclusivity. They don't want material that was already part of a web series that was self-released, because then they are not offering viewers exclusive content that justifies the subscription price or advertising spots. Hope that makes sense. P.S. a Netflix series is not considered a "web series", although technically it is viewed on a website :)

Martin, Thanks for the great question. Podcasts are a lot like any other development material. If they are done really well, or if there is a large, verifiable audience, then it can be a great way to demonstrate the variability of a series or a film concept. But don't go down the road of producing a podcast, solely for the purpose of trying to get a film or series made. There should be some real quality content, and you ought to have a market in mind for the podcast itself. - Brandon Blake
