TSL Free Screenplay Competition.

Hi all, just wondering if anyone on here submits to TSL's screenplay competition.

Just saw the quarter finalists are in.

Did anyone on here get through? Would love to read your screenplay if you did.

Michael Elliott

I made the Quarterfinals with my script "Nobody's Heroes".

Ryan Greenberg

Yep. My first script after a year of learning the craft. It started out so bad and it actually developed into something somewhat readable. It's not my favorite script, but it'll always be my first attempt

Frank Hauser

I entered, didn't pay to get notes, so I don't know how much of the "first few pages" they actually read.

Didn't make the Quarterfinals so I'm just reviewing the "first few pages" to see how I might polish more.

Then I'll give my bruised ego a hearty "You rock!" and go back to my current WIP.

Congrats to all who moved forward.

Lisa Lee

I entered but didn't make it. It was a short film, so I didn't bother paying for feedback.

Michael Elliott

At some point, if you want to improve, you're going to have to bite the bullet and pay for feedback/coverage.

Frank Hauser

Oh, I've had coverage done. Had a long convo with a studio reader I met through a friend. The recent version of the script is the results of that feedback. I'm poor and the free part of the contest felt like a nice way to test drive this version. I appreciate the value of coverage, no doubt.

M. Sandy

I entered my short film script but didn't make the quarter-finals, however, my script is now 13th on the red list for sci-fi shorts. Can anyone with knowledge of this explain what to do with this? Thanks

Sam Mannetti

Hey Gen, have you submitted your script to one of our contests yet? We've been hosting contests for over 10 years with top industry judges. All of our finalists get their work in front of industry professionals and our winners are flown to L.A. for meetings with executives all over town. Feel free to write into us at success@stage32.com if you have any questions or need help selecting the right contest for work. Always happy to help!

I entered a feature, didn't make the quarterfinals. Submitted a pilot that was a semi-finalist in the austin competition a couple years ago that also didn't place in TSL that year, so it's a rollercoaster of subjectivity out there.

Jack Hilkewich

I entered and made it to the quarter-finals and that was it. EDIT** I did not make it to the quarter-finals! Wrong contest!

What is TSL?
