Producer stories

On the DVD for the film What Just Happened there's a feature with producer stories. I'd highly recommend watching them, so entertaining.

I was wondering if anyone on here had stories like those.

My favorite so far is a producer calls up a country in south America and asks to use their military for extras in their neighboring country, fine they said. Two years later when it comes to filming she calls back up to check it's still cool only to find out they are now fighting with that neighboring country and if they said yes again, it would look like an act of war, solid no.

Gotta love movies.

Best producer story?

Amanda Toney

Wow...what a crazy story! Definitely don't want to start an act of war for a movie! I just recently watched the documentary LOST IN LA MANCHA on the making of Don Quixote with Terry Gilliam (the original with Johnny Depp) and THAT is a fascinating producer story - the sheer amount of things that went wrong were incredible. Between actor issues, weather issues, insurance issues, budget issues, it was nuts. Highly recommend this doc:

Amanda Toney I saw that one. You're right, totally crazy the selection of problems they had. Total Monty Python production.

'Overnight' is my fave behind the scenes industry doc. Totally watchable again n again. Character wise Troy Duffy is everything I'm not thankfully.

I haven't heard of Overnight - I'm going to check it out!
