Training as access support staff

I’m curious whether or not under represented writers have participated in this wgfoundation program? I’m planning to submit an application. However, considering I have zero experience, the CV that I’m being asked for is going to be a near blank page. Unfortunately, it seems that submitting my application requires something inside the “resume” field or the submission button doesn’t work. Would it be contradictory to my objective if I listed a possible occurrence of plagiarism in a movie which contains a scene almost identical to a blog published entry I made before the movie got released? And how would such a program approach a writer’s desire to remain anonymous?

E Aguirre, Jr. Hi, I’ve no experience with the WG Foundation, but I bet that if you contact the Stage32 team at WriterHelp@stage32.com someone would be able to help. Let us know how you get on, please.

Geoff Hall

@EAguirreJr so, how are you getting on with the application. Did you check out the email address?

Jed Power

Seeing it is volunteer, they should be happy to get you! If you have to put something in that box to make it submit, just copy and paste any author bio or ANYTHING ELSE YOU have available.

Just want to say thanks to those who responded and keep you apprised over the snag encountered trying to sign up to WGA apprenticeship program extended to writers. I decided early on that I would not plunder over obstacles to get my foot in the door as I blindly behaved previously toying with the fantasy of writing for the TV. Back then I flirted with writing for prime time TV, but these opportunistic programs were not known to me then. Over time my interest in screenwriting verged onto feature films. Although I realize that starting out in this industry, a green writer like myself must take advantage of whatever opportunities come my way. I guess there's always next year. Politics seem to have interfered in this years recruitment attempt, putting sign-ups (writers) between a picket line and the decision to be known as a scab.
