Introduce Yourself : Jon Sumple -- director, producer, distributor by Jon Sumple

I'm adding the distributor title above because the website we created in the last month is intended to be a destination for filmmakers who have made a film -- short, feature, doc, animation -- on an alternative subject. The objective of the site is to present alternative content -- something that may not be known by the masses -- in such a way that it helps educate and create awareness vs. just echoing a fringe agenda. Presented correctly, alternative films can serve as a catalyst for awareness, conversation, inspiration, motivation and, eventually, action -- which can have a positive impact on the world we live in. The doc film I directed, "extraordinary: the stan romanek story" is indeed an alternative story, yet one that after researching thoroughly, was a story I thought was worth telling. Finding a good story is one thing, getting it made is another story entirely. And during our 5-year journey to get the film to market, we learned an awful lot about what to do and not to do. I only wish that I had discovered Stage 32 much sooner. It would have definitely helped us connect with the resources we needed in post to accelerate the completion of the project.
