LOGLINE:

In the early 1970s, a Harlem teenager facing poverty and tumultuous home life  uses her hustling skills to earn her way to the top of the dope game to become the city’s youngest and only queenpin. "Based on a true story."

SYNOPSIS:

Maxine “Red Top” Walter grew tired of seeing her family struggling in the streets of Harlem. A chance encounter with a drug transaction involving her beloved uncle set her sights on a better life.

With the heroin trade taking over the streets of Harlem, Red sees a way out for herself and her family. With the guidance of lead kingpins Frank Matthews, Frank Lucas, and others, the beautiful and street-smart teenager soon becomes as big as her male counterparts in the dope game.

Red Top uses her unlimited street smarts and savvy to make it to the top, but that does not come without violence and consequences. In part her being the object of affection with two rivals, Freddie and Too Tall, takes a violent turn.

While Red ran in the most famous of circles, all the money in the world and the respect of her peers would not keep her from meeting a tragic end.
